Why a Tip Jar?

Why does a mailing list have a Tip Jar?

Various members offered, and a small but vocal few, outright demanded, the ability to donate some funds to offset the cost of moving the server to the business class connection and due to the higher cost, we've reluctantly agreed.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO REQUIREMENT TO DONATE! We are honored that you all enjoy the list that some of you have developed an addiction to it. We're humbled by the incredibly caring extended family that has developed on the list, and feel privilaged to host it. We do this because we love it, and we love knowing that people are enjoying so much.

Any monies generated by the tip jar will go directly into paying for the cost of the internet connection switchover and bill. Any monies over that expense will go back into buying more equipment to keep the sever running, and adding more disk space.

Some small changes have been made to try and make the Tip Jar more transparent. In other words, it isn't anything on our server. The "Donate Paypal" button (as did the old tipjar itself) actually only was a link to Paypal.com . It had some info included in the link as an HTML form that basically said: fill in the To field with supportfl@ondercin.com, here is the description, and make the cost $0.00 because we're actually NOT asking for anything. Really!

So if you really want to, you can click on the Paypal button and be taken to their site, or go there yourself. We will accept donations to supportfl@ondercin.com and will ONLY use them for supporting Friesian-L.

As always, double-check that the little padlock is locked and says it really is paypal.com in the lower right corner of your browser. We have nothing for taking any billing info and will NOT have anything.

We Thank You,

    Melissa and Paul
